Edgar A. Guest Biography - Edgar A. Guest was born on Augest 20, 1881 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. He died on Augest 5, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan. He was a British-born U.S. writer whose sentimental verses were widely read. His family moved to the United States in 1891. Four years later he went to work for the Detroit Free Press as a police reporter. He then became a writer of daily rhymes, which became so popular that they were syndicated to newspapers throughout the U.S. His books include: A Heap O' Livin and Just Folks. |
